Content marketing is at the top of many businesses’ to-do lists to get the word out about their services or products. And video is one of the most effective types of content to use in online marketing. Statistics show that online video accounts for 50% of mobile traffic and that 78% of Internet users watch videos online every week. The use of video is expected to grow dramatically in the next few years. (see infographic below from HighQ.com).
However, video is also one of the most frightening types of content for business owners to consider using.
There are many reasons why businesses don’t use video in their marketing strategy, but the two main ones have to do with a personal fear of “appearing dumb” and fear of “brand risk,” according to BJ Fogg, director of Stanford’s Persuasive Technology Lab in an article by ReelSEO.
Other psychological fears in using video include the loss of anonymity and control over your image or brand, Fogg says.
But with preparation and practice, you can overcome being uncomfortable in front of a camera, and avoid common mistakes. There are tips and techniques that you can employ to prepare you for on-camera presentations and to create professional instructional, informational, or promotional videos for your company or business. In addition, knowing what type of equipment to use, how to properly set up lighting, and budgeting your video project all will help you to successfully create a video to market your business and generate brand awareness.
These topics and more will be addressed in the Free Webinar, Learn How to Use Video Marketing to Expand Your Brand, guest hosted by Adrian Roup, an award-winning filmmaker/videographer. Adrian will also talk about using video marketing for real estate.
