In just three years, Google+, which was launched June 28, 2011, has grown to include more than 3 million active users. It’s a social network that is quickly gaining ground among adult users–users who interact with brands online. While a statement in the graphic below says some predict the social media network will surpass Facebook by 2016, even if it doesn’t, Google+ is not to be ignored by businesses looking to engage in B2B networking, as will as directly with consumers.
The social media networking site is known for being interest based, a place where you can get answers on almost anything, become educated, and to meet like-minded professionals and businesses. There are also the entertainment factors–you get the silly cat or beautiful natures photos, inspirational quotes, etc.
But what Google+ offers that other social networks can’t–Google authorship and the Google+ button. Both tell Google that the content you are creating and/or sharing is quality content and will have a greater chance of ranking in searches.
